Susan's Getting Married

I was so happy to be able to celebrate Susan's engagement in Michigan on June 30. Her boyfriend, now fiance, Micah invited a large group of Susan's friends and family to his home in Michigan to celebrate after he proposed. It was a wonderful night. Susan cried, laughed, and sang karaoke (with me no doubt). It was great! We picked out Susan's wedding dress, as you can see from the photo. It really is a beautiful gown and is so appropriate for a June wedding. Well, that's the fun news I've got for the time being!

In other news, 26 former Indy 500 princesses, including yours truly, joined in the festivities at the 2006 Indy 500 Festival Parade. It was a great chance to get together with some old friends and help support the festival. Although it was hot, we had a great time being part of the parade once again. We were starstruck as we waited to load onto our float when we saw Helio Castroneves, Tony Kanaan, Danica Patrick, Michael and Marco Andretti, Scott Dixon, Sam Hornish Jr., Dan Wheldon, and of course Dario Franchitti and his beautiful wife Ashley Judd. It was a wonderful, sunny day that was a great preview for the exciting 90th running of the Indy 500!!

This picture was taken at the Black and White Ball last May in Indianapolis. The event was part of my experience competing for the title of Miss Indiana. Next month, I will travel to Las Vegas for the Miss America 2006 Pageant. There, I will get to see this young woman crown the new Miss America! After competing in the Miss Indiana Pageant, and placing 2nd Runner-up; I am very excited to watch Miss Indiana 2005, Susan Guilkey and Miss Illinois 2005, Lauren Allen compete for the crown!!!
